Our story began when, at just 18 years old, Geoff Haith started repairing machinery for local farmers. Through this work, he recognised the need for a more efficient, mechanised approach to washing and grading root vegetables. Combining his engineering expertise with a deep understanding of farming, Geoff went on to design and manufacture innovative machinery for handling carrots, potatoes, and beetroot.

For many years, the business was led by Geoff’s five sons and daughter, supported by a dynamic management team committed to driving the company forward. Today, Haith employs over 120 people at our UK manufacturing facility, supported by a global network of agents who promote the Haith brand worldwide. This has resulted in a strong international presence, with installations and satisfied customers across the globe.

As the company has grown, so too have our facilities. Haith has relocated three times to accommodate expansion, culminating in our current ultra-modern, fully owned site in South Yorkshire. The facility spans approximately 6,000 m² of production space across a six-acre site and is equipped with the latest CNC laser, waterjet, and bending technologies.

Innovation has always been at the heart of Haith. We are especially proud to have received the UK’s highest business honour, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, twice in the Innovation category—making us the only company in our field to achieve this distinction. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing technology within the UK vegetable industry.

Today, advanced 3D design plays a key role in our process, allowing customers to visualise their systems before production begins.

Our technology also enables full data capture and centralised control of every component within a processing line, helping to prevent costly downtime and maximise efficiency. Our in-house PLC programming team develops bespoke control systems using the latest software, all accessible through intuitive HMI interfaces that give users complete visibility of their operation.

Through continuous investment in research and development, Haith has become the UK’s leading manufacturer of root crop handling machinery. We provide solutions ranging from individual machines to fully integrated, turnkey systems tailored to growers, processors, and packers of all sizes. Supported by decades of experience and strong industry partnerships, we deliver complete field-to-pack solutions, including optical inspection, multi-head weighing, robotic packing, and full project management
